1930

Foundation

The origin dates back to 1930, in Praia de Mira, Portugal, where Domingos Ribeiro Maçarico founded the Maçarico brand. He began producing and selling olives of the emblematic Galega variety, tree-ripened.

1960

First exports

Maçarico began its export process by taking its products to Brazil.

1967

Oxidation process

In a highly advanced and pioneering initiative for its time, Maçarico introduced the olive oxidation process into its production. At that time, no other company in the country was familiar with oxidation technology.

1970

Export expansion

Driven by its continuous growth, Maçarico is expanding its horizons and venturing into new markets, setting its sights on France.

1978

Product range expansion: pickles, mustard, and chiles

Maçarico's close connection to the market drives the expansion of its catalog, introducing new products such as pickles, lupini beans, mustard, and one of its most emblematic products: piri-piri sauce.

1980

Factory expansion

The company's development and growth necessitate industrial expansion to cover clients and consumers.

1992

FDA registration

Maçarico registers its products with the FDA, meeting the strict requirements demanded in the United States regarding safety, composition, and information for American consumers. A new milestone in the company's history.

2003

Relocation of facilities

With the arrival of the new century, it became necessary to expand and adapt the factory facilities and build a new administrative building. In addition, a new central warehouse was built in the Mira Industrial Zone.

2013

Kosher Certification

Maçarico obtains Kosher certification to assure its consumers that it complies with the strict laws of this certification: including cleanliness, purity, and quality.

2018

ISO 22000 Certification

Maçarico adopts the food safety management model established by the ISO 22000 standard, which specifies a set of requirements recognized as essential and that ensure the food safety of its products from raw materials to the final product.

2023

Halal Certification

With its entry into new markets, Maçarico is investing in Halal certification for its products, allowing the brand to gain recognition among Islamic communities.

2025

From tradition to the future

Maçarico's integration into the Ángel Camacho group marks the beginning of a new era, driven by the modernization of its image without losing its Portuguese essence. This union strengthens its international projection and lays the groundwork for future growth that combines tradition, innovation, and a greater connection with today's consumers.
